Insomnia Coffee Company will open a new store in Wexford town this November, located in Redmond Square, thus becoming Insomnia’s third store to open in Co. Wexford after Gorey and Bunclody.
Insomnia Coffee Company has become an iconic Irish brand and is well-known to coffee lovers across the country offering hot beverages, gourmet sandwiches and patisserie products. The company has grown from a single location in a Galway bookstore in 1997 and now has over 175 stores including 23 stores in the UK.
Speaking to WexfordToday.com, Dara O’Flynn CEO Insomnia Coffee Company said; “I am delighted to open Insomnia in Wexford Town. I’m confident that local residents and shoppers alike will love our coffee and the store, and it will hopefully become a new local hub.”
The store design reflects Insomnia’s coffee heritage whilst also taking inspiration from vintage tea shops and industrial urban lofts. The result is a welcoming and comfortable space using fabrics and natural finishes punctuated with quirky and fun branding which evokes a great ambience. Coffee lovers will be especially impressed with the many unique elements in store such as the vintage tea cup clock and quirky wall features such as a scrabble wall and coffee cinema sign.
The store has been designed with a variety of customers in mind and with seating for up to 40 people. The store will provide employment for 12 members of staff.
Insomnia will also operate their popular book swap system where not only can you read a book while enjoying a coffee in store, customers can take a book away and all they have to do is leave one to stay.
Insomnia is Ireland’s leading independent coffee shop chain and the 15th largest in Europe. It has grown from a single location in a Galway Bookstore in 1997 to over 175 stores, and the company also has 400 self-service machines in operation in Ireland and the UK.
Insomnia currently employs 400 people throughout Ireland directly in its company-owned stores, along with a further 300 people through its concessions and franchised stores. As an indigenous, 100% Irish owned company, Insomnia is committed to supporting local businesses by working with Irish suppliers, including Galway-based Solaris Herbal Tea, Sweet Things, Keoghs Crisps and Broderick’s Bars.
