Louth 0-16
Wexford 3-10
Wexford’s U-20 Footballers beat Louth by 3 points this evening in Drogheda to set up an EirGrid Leinster semi-final in Parnell Park next Tuesday evening against Dublin.
Jamie Meyler’s converted penalty in injury time secured a 3 point win for Wexford to set up another away fixture.
Wexford held an 8 point lead, 2-07 to 0-05, at half time; Jamie Meyler’s attempt for a point sneaked under the cross bar for the opening goal, and Ben Maddock’s long range shot for a point was deflected into the net by a Louth defender.
Louth came out fighting in the second half, picked off vital scores, and levelled the game with only minutes to play, and when it looked destined for a draw the visitors were awarded a penalty.
