Courtown Lifeboat launched to assist Arklow RNLI

At approximately 10.30 pm on Saturday night Courtown RNLI Lifeboat was launched at the request from the Irish Coastguard, and with volunteer crew members James Sinnott, Yvette Deacon and Cormac Kinsella onboard, the boat made its way to position just north of Cahore Point, where two vessels needed assistance.
Arklow Lifeboat were already at the scene where a powerboat towing a yacht had suffered engine trouble. Both casualty vessels and the two crew onboard were towed into Courtown Harbour. Conditions were reported as good and all returned safely.
This was the second emergency call in the North Wexford area in recent days.
Last Thursday week the Courtown/Arklow Coast Guard Unit were tasked to Toberpatrick beach, about one kilometre south of Kilmichael Point, to assist a 12 year old had fallen from a sand dune and injured their back. Quickly after arriving on scene and with such a long distance to the road, very rough terrain and because of the suspected injuries to their back the decision was made to call Rescue 116.
The patient was assessed and then winched onboard Rescue 116 and brought to Dublin Airport before being transferred to an awaiting ambulance and brought to Temple Street Hospital, Dublin, for further assessment.
