Bealtaine Living Earth Festival 2019 launched

Schools, family groups, gardening enthusiasts and lovers of nature and the great outdoors across Wexford will revel in the extended programme of events that makes up this year’s Bealtaine Living Earth Festival.
It runs from May 18th to 26th, inclusive, right across the south east. The free schedule includes over 50 events for adults, schools and all the family and celebrates biodiversity in the region,
Calmast’s Dr Cordula Weiss told WexfordToday.com that Calmast, Waterford Institute of Technology’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Engagement Centre, is proud to have even more events in Wexford this year as the programme grows in popularity outside of its traditional Waterford base.
“This is a fantastic festival with something for absolutely everyone. We’re delighted to have free events at Wexford Wildfowl Reserve, the JFK Memorial Park and Arboretum and Seal Rescue Ireland and thank these venues and the people of Wexford and Wexford County Council for their continued support.
“There will be free entry to the JFK Memorial Park & Arboretum throughout Bealtaine Living Earth Festival. While events are free, pre-booking is required for some and as places are limited, we want people to log on now and book their places on www.livingearth.ie,” Dr Weiss advised.

Sunday, May 19th; 2.30 pm to 4 pm Mammal Identification at Wexford Wildfowl Reserve (pre-booking required.
Sunday, May 19th; 7 pm- 9 pm Dusk Chorus –The Songs of Nightfall at JFK Memorial Park and Arboretum with Eric Dempsey, Author, Bird Expert, Birds Ireland.
Wednesday, May 22th; 12 noon-1 pm Tree Therapy; Wellness Walk for International Day for Biological Diversity at the JFK Memorial Park and Arboretum.
Friday, May 24th; 1 pm to 5 pm Nature Mandala creating event at the JFK Memorial Park and Arboretum.
Friday, May 24th and 25th; Free Tour and Workshop at the Seal Rescue Ireland hub at Courtown.
Friday, May 24th 12 noon to 1 pm A Living Library event at the JFK Arboretum
Sunday, May 26th; Pond Dipping and Bug Hunting at Wexford Wildfowl Reserve from 11 am to 12.30 pm and The Importance of Trees event at the same venue from 2.30 pm to 4 pm.
