10-man Gorey exit FAI Junior Cup

GOREY RANGERS. Ready for the FAI Junior Cup clash with Sherriff YC, Dublin, at Ramstown today.

GOREY RANGERS 0 SHERRIFF YC 2

Gorey Rangers good run in the FAI Junior Cup expired at Ramstown Park when Sheriff YC from Dublin proved the strongest side in a competitive game and won on a scoreline of 2-0.
Bisto Flood was the hero for the city side getting both goals, the first after 10 minutes.
Two minutes into the second half Gorey’s goalkeeper Sean Allen was sent off and Flood converted the resulting penalty.
The young Gorey team played well, but the visitors showed superior experience and strength and could well finish up as cup winners.
Gorey’s defence played well with Conor Casserley, Stephen Moloney, Brian Cullen and Glen O’Brien all worthy of mention.
Obviously Gorey were disappointed not to get the ticket into the quarter finals and they wish Sherriff the best of luck as they go forward.
GOREY; Sean Allen, Conor Casserley, Brian Cullen, Stephen Moloney, Glen O’Brien, Mark Woods, Eric Quinn, Stephen Kinsella, Gavin O’Brien, Dylan Vickers, David Behan. Subs; Gavin Griffiths for Stephen Kinsella. Dan Brennan for Mark Woods. Joe Bolger for Dylan Vickers. Jamie Howard and Dion Leeson.
Gorey Rangers will be back in training on Tuesday night and the focus now is on winning their first League title and retaining the Wexford Cup.
Keeping two out of three dreams alive at this stage of the season is the inspiration for total commitment and dedication driving forward.
