Carnew is mourning road crash victim

The 23 years old man who was fatally injured in a road traffic collision on Monday has been named as John Byrne, Emmet Place, Carnew.

Mr Byrne came off his motorcycle at Hillbrook Lower on the R748 road from Aughrim to Carnew.
It is understood that he was travelling towards Tinahely when the incident occurred around 2 pm.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr Byrne was a popular member of the community and there is an outpouring of sympathy for the grief-striken family and his many friends.
Loving son of Mary and the late Mick. Sadly missed by his loving mother, brothers Peter, Damien, David and James, sisters Margaret, Georgina, Geraldine and Catherine, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and large circle of friends.
John will be reposing at his home Emmett Place, Carnew from 1 pm Wednesday with removal Thursday at 1.30 pm to Church of the Most Holy Rosary, Carnew arriving for 2 pm Funeral Mass followed by interment in Tomacork Cemetery.
