The future shape of the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Gorey will be discussed at a special meeting on Tuesday, September 25th in the Loch Garman Arms at 8 pm sharp.
An enlarged committee is required to ensure the health and safety conditions that need to be met to secure the safe running of the parade and personal liability should any incident happen. Wexford County Council has been approached in relation to these issues.

“The other issue is the need for more creativity into the Gorey Parade. We have in recent years just been focused getting the Gorey Parade down the town safely and the creative aspect has been neglected,” said Claire Urquhart from the Gorey Parade Committee.
So, what do they need?
1. New members on the committee (meeting from January twice weekly and then weekly closer to the parade).
2. People who can help with ideas for the creative development of the parade like themes, helping entrants, fringe events, etc.
2. Entrants to commit to providing stewards for the duration of the Parade.
“We are very proud of our parade but need your help. Therefore, it is vital that we have a representative from your business, organisation, group come along to this meeting,” concluded Ms. Urquhart.
