Patrick wins RED MILLS Super League

Patrick Whelan is a young man heading places, Brookfield Cavalier Cruise won last years YES at the Dublin Horse Show

Patrick Whelan won the RED MILLS Super League, at Kilguikey House, on Sunday afternoon, with his Footfall, the diminutive fourteen year old gelding stands only 15.2, and they have campaigned successfully for the last seven years.

A Murrintown native, 22year old, Patrick, began his career in the Killinick Pony Club, and has moved up the ranks, last year he was selected on the Irish Young Rider squad for the European Championships at Millstreet.

He won the 4yo Young Event Horse Series at the Dublin Horse Show last year aboard Brookfield Cavalier Cruise, the Cavalier Carnival gelding was produced by Louise Codd.

Patrick is based at home, but rides out for Louise, the combination had some very good results at the recent Millstreet International Show, they won the The EPS Group CCI1* with Killossery Karisma, and won the 5yo Discovery final with Theodoros.
