Greyhound Racing- Cushie Jet qualifies for Juvenile Derby

Cushie Jet performed miracles on Friday night, he came from virtually an impossible position to his win the first semi-final of the Texacloth Juvenile Derby Open 525 at Newbridge.

The Diane Brodie and John Codd owned dog was in the wars on the run to the opening turn, crowded on the first, was at least 10 lengths behind the leader entering the back straight, but managed to get up close home to win by a half a length in 28.59.

The other semi-final was won by Ballymac Anton in a new track record of 28.18, this was 3 spots faster than the record Cushie had set only seven days earlier.

The final takes place next Friday night with a winners prize of 10,000.
