PADRAIC FOGARTY
Pádraic Fogarty, author, ecologist and campaign officer with the Irish Wildlife Trust will discuss his book Whittled Away: Ireland’s Vanishing Nature in Gorey Library on Thursday, June 14th at 7 pm.
Nature in Ireland is disappearing at an alarming rate. Over fishing, industrial-scale farming and pollution have decimated wildlife habitats and populations.
Vast shoals of herring, rivers bursting with salmon, and bogs alive with flocks of curlew and geese have all become folk memories.
Against this impoverishment of our natural resources, Pádraic will reveal how the interests of the country and its nature can be reconciled.
All welcome. Booking essential. Contact Gorey Library on 053 9421481 or goreylib@wexfordcoco.ie
