The Tattersalls Sales returned to Cheltenham racecourse on Friday evening after a break of 605 days due to COVID restrictions and five of the top six lots were consigned by Wexford Handlers.

Last weekend’s Tattersalls runner-up, and twice raced, Arctic Bresil, trained by Sean Doyle, topped the sale at £305,000, the 4yo gelding by Blue Bresil, out of a dual winning mare was purchased by Gerry Hogan, the buyer commented, “I’m not sure who’ll train him yet but he’ll come back to Ireland.”

In that same Tattersalls race, Present Soldier, trained by Denis Murphy, was a three parts victor over Arctic Bresil, but on the night he was knocked down to Gordon Elliott for slightly less at £300,000.
