Wexford Squad Massively Depleted for Trip to Clare

News has emerged that just 22 players are likely to be fit to take their place in the Wexford panel for Sunday’s Allianz National Hurling League Round 2 game against Clare in Ennis.

A number of injuries developed following the win over Laois last weekend.

These injuries, combined with previous injuries means that Davy Fitzgerald will have to plan without Conor McDonald, Liam Ryan, Shaun Murphy, Paul Morris, Damien Reck, Cathal Dunbar, Ross Donohoe and Conor Mahoney, while Richie Lawlor and Glen Malone have only re-joined the panel this week following injury. It is understood that a further two players face morning fitness tests ahead of the game.

No doubt Clare will be looking to get their league campaign back on track following last week’s shock defeat to Antrim.
