O’Connor Nurseries, Barnland, 3kms outside Gorey, features in tonight’s episode of Nationwide on RTE 1 at 7pm.

The family run business grows fifty five thousand Poinsettias every year, indigenous to Mexico and Central America, it is very popular at Christmas and is widely used in festive displays.

Established in 1967, O’Connor Nurseries are a multi-award winning family run business producing premier quality Irish grown plants specifically for Garden Centres, it has over six acres of glasshouse including four acres of a new state-of-the-art climate-controlled houses.

They have previously been awarded “Best Local Plant Supplier” (as voted by the Garden Centres), “Best Specialist Grower” and the industry’s highest possible award the “Ornamental Grower of the Year”.
