Kilmallock Water Treatment Plant Down

Irish Water, working in partnership with Wexford County Council wish to advise that there is a widespread water supply outage on the Sow Regional Water Supply Scheme at the Kilmallock Water Treatment Plant this morning due to a plant shutdown last night.

The shutdown, caused by the recent bad weather has seen a deterioration in raw water quality at the plant. These conditions have meant that the plant is struggling to treat the water to the requisite standard and has forced intermittent plant shutdowns, resulting in outages in the network.

Areas affected: Castlebridge Oldtown, Curracloe, Crossabeg, Crossabeg, Blackwater, Ballymurn, Oylegate, Glenbrien, Ballinellard, Ballagh.

Irish Water is working at this time, with our local authority partners, contractors and others to safeguard the health and well-being of staff and the public and to ensure the continuity of drinking water and wastewater services.

The latest updates on these works will be available on the supply and service section of our website https://www.water.ie. The Irish Water customer care helpline is open 24/7 and customers can call us on 1850 278 278. Customers can also contact us on Twitter @IWCare with any queries.
