Worlds Largest Plane- Heard but not Seen

The flight path earlier today of Antonov AN-225 Cargo Transporter

The world’s largest aircraft, the Antonov AN-225 cargo transporter, flew over south Wexford this afternoon, before landing in Shannon before 2 pm, with a consignment of personal protective equipment (PPE) from China.

The aircraft is six storeys high, has 32 wheels, is 230 tonnes heavier than a jumbo jet, and was originally used to launch the former Soviet Union’s shuttles into outer space.

The aircraft had actually started its descent by the time it reached the Irish coast, 27,000 feet and descending.

Lots of people heard her as she passed overhead, but visibility was poor at the time, she leaves Shannon tomorrow at 11 am, but tomorrow again looks cloudy at times.
