The Ashdown Park Hotel and Amber Springs Hotel in Gorey have injected positivity into the community with their gesture of goodwill for vulnerable people in the North Wexford area.
The Gorey town hotels provide 130 meals on a daily basis for people in need.
Hotel staff under the tutelage of manager Paul Finnegan and head chef Val Murphy prepare the delicious meals on a daily basis. Hotel owners Tommy and Paddy Redmond sponsored the initiative.
Once the meals are prepared, community volunteers take the lead. The majority of the volunteers hail from Naomh Éanna GAA club while others are kind-hearted community volunteers who are willing to lend a hand. Gorey RFC and SKC Providers are also on-board while the Craanford-Monaseed route is covered by the local GAA club and community alert volunteers.
A waiting list is now in operation as there is plenty of demand for the service. Gorey Community Support Group is ready to help people with their grocery collections and any other necessary voluntary support.
