Killer Kane collects at Ballycahane

The Colin Bowe trained, Chosen Port, won the opening 4yo mares maiden at the rescheduled Ballycahane fixture, in Limerick, the Kedragh Stud, home bred mare is by their resident stallion, Well Chosen; winner number one of the weekend for Barry O’Neill. The runner-up here was the Johnny Berry trained, Western Zara.

The Bowe/ O’Neill combination recorded a double on the day when the Aizavoski debutante, The Dabber, ran out a nice winner of the 5yo+ mares maiden.

Michael Goff’s, Patroclus, ridden by Shane Fitzgerald, filled the runner-up berth in the 4yo geldings maiden, and the Denis Murphy trained, Gaston Phelbus, ridden by Jamie Codd, took third place.

Donnchadh Doyle and Rob James combined to land the 5yo geldings maiden with the well bred Killer Kane, the Oscar gelding, a half brother to Go Native, was a €70,000 purchase at the Derby Sale as a 3yo.

Six went to post for the opening 4yo maiden at Tyrella, Wexford horses filled the top three places, victory went to the Denis Murphy trained, Greenrock Abbey, ridden by LJ Murphy, the son of El Salvador’s next outing will be a sales date.

Oscar Elite, trained by Cormac Doyle, and ridden by Jack Hendrick, showed a good turn of foot to win a competitive 16 runner 5&6yo Geldings Maiden, the winner is now sales bound.
