The Carlow Farmers point-to-point takes place at Borris House tomorrow (Sunday) with a huge entry – 156 – which has forced the organisers to push back the starting time by one hour to 12 noon.
It is the only point-to-point in the country after other scheduled fixtures lost out to the severe weather warnings and Storm Jorge. The going at Borris House is officially ‘soft’.
CARD IS AS FOLLOWS; 12 pm; Goffs UK Aintree Sale Four-Year-Old Maiden Race (37 entries).
12.30 pm; John M Foley Solicitors Five-Year-Old Geldings Maiden Race (26 entries).
1 pm; Innovate Five-Year-Old Plus Mares Maiden Race (43 entries)
1.30 pm; Duninga Gallops Five-Year-Old Adjacent Maiden Race (16 entries).
2 pm; Connollys Red Mills Winner of One Race (16 entries).
2.30 pm; Goresbridge Bloodstock Sales Six-Year-Old Plus Geldings Maiden Race for Novice Riders (18 entries).
There is some extra entertainment after the racing when a Stable Staff race takes place for which 29 entries have been received. There is a fun element to this event, and it should be very popular with the local crowd.
