Wexford point-to-point wins in atrocious weather

The point-to-point at Stonehall, Co. Limerick, was a victim of bad weather last weekend, but went ahead today and Barry O’Neill and Colin Bowe combined forces to take the four-year-old maiden race with Brandy Love who won comfortably by eight lengths. The only filly in a field of six and running in the colours of Milestone Racing Partnership will go for the sales.

Brandy Love is the daughter of Jet Away standing at Eoin Banville’s Arctic Tack Stud at Newbawn, Foulksmills, who was also the sire of Supreme Jet who won the other four-year-old maiden at Oldtown for Patrick O’Farrell. A double success on the same day for Jet Away’s first runners.

Oldtown, Co. Meath today ran off its fixture called off last weekend due to adverse weather, but they got through the card in difficult conditions. Driving rain and poor visibility. The Winner of Two race saw a four lengths winner in Doubleubee for Ballycarney handler Andrew Latta and Killanne rider Rob James. Daryl Deacon, Clonroche, provided the runner up Call It Time with Moira McElligott up.

Sean Doyle saddled Timeless Beauty for the Monbeg Partnership in the mare’s maiden race for five-year olds which resulted in a three lengths success under Jamie Scallan, Tomhaggard.
