Arguably the proudest man at the opening of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge was Cathaoirleach of Wexford County Council, Cllr Michael Sheehan, who claims the new road network will enable the redevelopment of the region, unleash potential and rejuvenate New Ross.

Having presided officially over the opening of the M50 Enniscorthy By-pass last July, Cllr Sheehan laughs at his experience of “double bypass” but being a native of New Ross and someone who argues at every table for everything that is good about New Ross and district, this was his proudest day.
