The final point-to-point of 2019 took place in heavy conditions at Dromahane this afternoon where the two four-year-old maidens for mares and geldings, respectively, were divided to make an eight-race card at the popular Cork venue.
Mick Goff supplied the only Wexford trained winner of the day with newcomer Clondaw Bertie, running in the colours of the handlers’ wife, Caitriona Goff, who went into the lead with four fences to jump and ran out an impressive twelve lengths winner under Shane Fitzgerald. It is the fifth winner of the season for both handler and rider.
