Wexford Co. Council awarded €9.5m in roads funding

BREE VILLAGE. Funding allocated to regional and local roads.

A total of €9,596,659 in roads funding has been allocated for County Wexford next year. Minister Michael D’Arcy has confirmed to WexfordToday.com that the funding has been made available to Wexford County Council as a result of funding secured in Budget 2020.

Minister D’Arcy said; “I am delighted to confirm that Wexford is to benefit from over €9.5 million in funding for maintaining and upgrading our roads network. The allocation, confirmed by Transport Infrastructure Ireland today, is a sign of the Fine Gael-led Government’s commitment to balanced regional development for Wexford and for Ireland.”

 “A well developed and maintained road network is vital to ensure safety on our roads, and also to ensure that no area of the country is at a disadvantage when it comes to economic development,” said Minister D’Arcy, who added; “Fine Gael has always been committed to improving and maintaining a high quality road network, and the Government has stood firm over the need to ensure we have safe, quality roads throughout the country.”
