A man has been arrested following a burglary committed in the Selskar area of Wexford Town earlier this evening. Witnesses report the suspect being chased by Gardaí before being detained.

An Garda Síochana issued the following statement this evening:

Gardaí have arrested a male in his 40s following a burglary that occurred at a residential property in Selskar, Wexford Town, at approximately 8pm this evening. He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Wexford Garda station.

Investigations are ongoing.
