It was Wexford domination today at Tipperary Point to Point, with 7 of the 9 winners being trained in the Model County.
The opening race, a 4yo maiden was won by Merry Maker for handler Pierce Power and jockey Shane O’Rourke.
Division 1 of the 4yo geldings maiden was won by Daily Present for Mick Goff and jockey Joey Dunne. Mick brought up a double on the card later in the afternoon when Great D’ange won division 1 of the 5yo geldings maiden under Liam Gilligan.
Division 2 of the 4yo geldings maiden brought success for Donnacha Doyle, who sent out Anyharminasking to win under James Walsh.
Pat O’Rourke was the next Wexford handler to taste victory as Whatsstoppingyou took division 2 of the 5yo mares maiden for jockey Jimmy O’Rourke.
Mary Ellen Doyle and Baltimore Stables, made it three winners from the parish of Monageer when Gandhi Maker won division 2 of the 5yo geldings maiden.
The O’Rourke’s then made it a double in the last race on the card when Cosmic Outlaw won division 4 of the 5yo geldings maiden.
This win brought up the magnificent seven victories for Wexford handlers from the nine races held.
One of the other two races was won by Colin Motherway, former resident of the Ballagh and Co.Wexford jockey Jamie Codd, who has a big week ahead of him at Punchestown in a quest to win the champion amateur jockey title.
