It was certainly a good afternoon for Wexford handlers at the Tattersalls Point-to-Point Sale held at Newmarket; local trainers were responsible for eight of the top ten lots at Friday’s sale.

Sean Doyle’s American Mike won his maiden at Cork two weeks ago, Gordon Elliott went to 195,000 Stg to secure the son of Mahler.

Sean’s brother Cormac saw his Westerner gelding, winner of his maiden the same day in Cork, knocked down to the same connections, this time for 175,000 Stg.

The third of the brothers, Donnchadh, secured 135,000 Stg, again from Elliott, for recent Fairyhouse winner, Ash Tree Meadow.
