Day 3 proved to be very successful from a Wexford perspective with trainer Paul Nolan’s victory with Mrs Milner in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle and jockey Jordan Gainford’s victory in the Paddy Power Handicap Chase on the Shunter.

Nolan’s win is his 3rd Cheltenham festival win, and well deserved following many narrow defeats in recent years.

Other Wexford jockeys also had a busy day. In the feature race of the day there were mixed emotions. Adamstown man Jonathan Moore was supposed to be riding the winner of the stayers hurdle Flooring Porter only for a late injury forced him to miss out. In the same race Seán Flanagan finished 4th on Beacon Edge for Noel Meade.

JJ Slevin finished 3rd aboard Mighty Blue in the Mares Novice hurdle and finished down the field in the Pertemps. Daryl Jacob was second in race 1 on Fusil Raffles.
