Wexford man Harley Dunne enjoyed success aboard ‘Its Gonnahappen’ in the Goresbridge Maiden Hurdle earlier today in Gowran Park.
Trained by Larry Byrne, the 5 year old gelding went off at a price of 25/1, but made a mockery of those odds with an easy 12 length victory.
This victory ended somewhat of a drought for both trainer and jockey. Trainer Larry Byrne based in Rathturtin, enjoyed his first track winner since 2016, while owner/jockey Harley Dunne enjoyed his first track winner since 2019.
‘Its Gonnahappen’ is owned by his jockey Harley and Blackwater man Declan Byrne and is now for sale.
There was more Wexford success later on the card, when Kiltealy trainer Sean Doyle trained the winner of the Tetratema Cup Hunters Steeplechase ‘Solomn Grundy’, with jockey James Scallan enjoying his first ever winner on the track
