Local Minister James Browne TD has urged local clubs and organisations to submit their applications early to the new round of Sports Capital Funding announced by Government today.
€40 million is being made available in 2021 under a new round of the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme (SCEP).
Minister Browne commented,
“The new round of Sports Capital Funding will be a real lifeline for many clubs. In Government we are keenly aware of the additional costs COVID-19 has brought for many clubs, and severely limited fundraising opportunities due to the pandemic.
It is welcome that this new round of funding will prioritise applications that increase female participation in sport, applications from disadvantaged areas, and applications which enhance or support disabled users of facilities.
€40m has been made available under this new round of funding with applications open from December 11th until next February. I would urge clubs to submit their applications as soon as possible.”
