The couple behind Grálinn, an alternative catering and food truck business is leaving Dublin to open permanent premises in Wexford’s Fethard-on-Sea opening this Saturday, June 13th.
Dee Kelly and Matteo Griscti started Grálinn over three years ago with the aim to share the food and coffee they love in unexpected places. Having both worked in restaurants and cafés, the pair began with catering small events and pitching up at festivals throughout Ireland – including Another Love Story, Body & Soul and Electric Picnic – during the summer months, as well as running small supper clubs in their small commercial prep kitchen in Elmhurst Cottage Farm.
Dee spent her summers in Wexford and it was the first place she brought Matteo when they met and, over the years, the couple would always turn to Fethard-on-Sea to switch-off on from busy city life. The pair signed the lease on their new cafe a week before Covid-19 landed in Ireland.
Initially, they will be opening for takeaway cafés with a small selection of homemade baked goods including cookie sandwiches, brownies and a selection of sausage rolls and sandwich with coffee sourced from a selection of Irish Roasters starting with Roasted Brown.
Further down the line, they hope to launch a picnic basket for customers to take away before eventually opening the premises to customers as restrictions ease.

Speaking of the trials that Covid-19 has brought for the food and drinks industry, the couple is looking at it with a positive mind.
“It’s been an interesting time in the food industry with fear and innovation clashing heads but we’re excited to get started and lead with the latter.”
The menu will include locally sourced produce, with eggs and butter coming from Tinnock in Campile, fruit and vegetables from surrounding farmers and honey from local hives.
Opening hours will initially be from 10am – 3pm Thursday to Sunday with updates available on their Instagram https://www.instagram.com/_gralinn_
