Breeding Season In Full Swing At Killack Stud

Killack Stud, in Caim, stands two National Hunt stallions for the current season, El Salvador (IRE) and Centurion, and we spoke to the father and son team of Shay and JJ Slevin.

The 7 times winning El Salvador is by Galileo (IRE), out of the Group 1 winning mare, Balisada (GB), by Kris (GB). Trained by Aidan O’Brien he won from 12-16 furlongs.

The unraced Centurion, like his stablemate, is also by Galileo (IRE), out of the Belmez (USA) mare, Beltisaal (FR), from the family of Rip Van Winkle, he is a full brother to the Group 1 winning Kingsbarns, who in fact produced the Grade 1 winning Gabor in his short stud career.

Shay can be contacted on 087 6602021
