We paid a visit to Ballyminane Mills, in Curraghgraigue, only 10 minutes from the town of Enniscorthy, it’s Ireland’s oldest working water-powered flour, corn, and sawmill. Ballyminane Mills was established in 1832 on the River Urrin.
We met John Murphy, a third-generation miller, his grandfather, Michael, took charge of the mill in 1905, and he joined his uncle Aidan in 2008. Aidan passed away last year, in January 2019.
Flour can be purchased directly from the Mill, or on-line through https://www.neighbourfood.ie/
