The Irish Coast Guard helicopter rescued one person this evening, who had got trapped on a sandbank, in Bannow. The tide came in quickly, they became stranded but fortunately were rescued, footage courtest of Julie Hogan.
All happening here this evening. The rescue helicopter called to rescue a person stranded in Bannow. The tide comes in there pretty quickly and cuts off that section of the strand. Unfortunately it's caught several people, when picking cockles out there. #RNLI #rescue117
