Ciara completes her 72kms Trek

Ciara Tomkins, from Gorey, is one of the many people who took part in the “100,000 Steps Within 24 Hours” Fundraiser.

The event organised by Martin Long, a personal trainer in Dublin, is being run to raise funds for front-line workers in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin. The average frontline health care worker walks 100,000 steps every week.

Ciara, a member of Gorey Rugby Club and Naomh Eanna, started out on her journey at 4am on Saturday morning and completed her 100,000 steps just under 17 hours later, at 9pm last night, that meant she walked or ran 72kms, the equivalent of walking from Castletown to Gusserane.

Up to a few minutes ago there is almost €8,000 raised of the €100,000 goal. Should you want to donate, please click on https://www.gofundme.com/f/100000-steps-within-24-hours?utm_source=whatsapp-visit&utm_medium=chat&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet
