Gardaí in Wexford have arrested a man in his 30s and recovered a sum of cash following a robbery at the post office in Castlebridge.
Shortly after 8.30am Gardaí received reports of a robbery at a convenience store in Castlebridge. It’s understood a man entered the store and threatened staff at knifepoint before fleeing the scene on foot with a sum of cash. The alarm was raised and a man in his early 30s was apprehended and arrested moments later a short distance from the store by Gardaí responding to the incident. A knife and a sum of cash were also recovered.
The arrested man was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Wexford Garda Station.
Investigating Gardaí say no one was physically harmed in the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
