Storey takes over in Taghmon-Camross

Wexford’s ’96 All-Ireland captain, Martin Storey, has taken charge of the Taghmon-Camross Intermediate Hurling team this year.

Six weeks in the job, Martin says,

“training is going well”.

“I was never involved in a dual club, and never had to share training sessions, the players are use to it, and I’m learning to get use to.”

The players are all dual, it’s like this throughout the county except for the likes of Oulart, and a hand full of other clubs. It’s a very young team in Taghmon, the average age is 22-23, and he is hoping for progress in the season ahead.

“They are a really good bunch of lads to train”.

Martin is enjoying it, he feels he has brought a new voice to the set-up, its a team of brothers, and it reminds him a lot of the Oulart team he played with during his career.

Taghmon-Camross face Askamore in the Hurling League on Saturday week, the 14th of March. They are in Group B of the Courtyard Intermediate Hurling Championship, with Buffers Alley, HWH Bunclody, Blackwater, Ballygarrett, Rathgarogue/Cushinstown, and no doubt the clash against the Alley will be a game he will really look forward to.
