Following the distribution of Johnny Mythen’s surplus of 6,204 the biggest beneficiary was Deirdre Wadding from Solidarity People Before Profit.

Brendan Howlin is leading the way with 9,911. James Browne has 8,462. Then it gets very tight. Michael D’Arcy 6,577; Verona Murphy 6,498; Paul Kehoe 6,455; Malcolm Byrne 6,338.

Sinn Fein’s Johnny Mythen was formally elected on the First Count. He polled a massive 18,717 first preferences to become the first Sinn Fein candidate elected in Wexford for 102 years. That was Sean Etchingham from Riverchapel and the last time a General Election was held on a Saturday.
