Death of popular broadcaster Cecil Riddall

CECIL RIDDALL

The death has occurred of Cecil Riddall, Gurteen, Templeshambo, who was one of the longest serving broadcasters on South East Radio and retired last April.

The programme ‘Sounds for Sunday’ was produced by the Christian Media Trust and aired on South East Radio for 28 years.

He played a unique mix of Hymns and Christian music on Sunday mornings at 10 am and had a huge fan base with a long list of requests for each episode.
Many tributes were paid to Cecil at the time of his retirement, many from loyal listeners and Bishop of Ferns, Bishop Denis Brennan.

Beloved husband of the late Pamela and loving father of Hazel, Heather, Edwin and Andrew. Funeral arrangements later.
