Video Interview – Rose happy to meet her New Ross cousins

Today was a special day in the life of Rose Katherine Kennedy Townsend, the great-grandchild of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, and grandchild of Ethel and Robert (Bobby) Kennedy, brother of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, who found herself in Kennedy country at New Ross where she participated in the official opening of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge – now the longest bridge in Ireland.

The new bridge is a stone’s throw from Dunganstown the ancestral homestead of President John F Kennedy and the eight other siblings of the famed Kennedy family with the bridge named after their mother Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy.

Rose flew into Shannon Airport early this morning and enthusiastically greeted her Irish cousins and also visited the Kennedy Family Homestead, the JFK Arboretum and the Dunbrody Famine Ship and Emigrant Flame in New Ross Town.

With the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Bridge in the background, Rose Katherine Kennedy Townsend spoke to DAN WALSH and video cameraman Finbar Flanagan…
