Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin displayed his support for the Wexford Fianna Fail candidates, during his visits to Wexford Town and New Ross today.
Earlier in the day he spent some time meeting the business people of Wexford town alongside Wexford/Rosslare district-based Candidate Lisa McDonald.
He then moved on to New Ross in the evening to assist first-time general election candidate Cllr Michael Sheehan.
We caught up with both Deputy Martin and Cllr Sheehan, as they shared their thoughts on some of the main issues facing counties like Wexford, and the district of New Ross.
Fianna Fail are adopting a bold strategy here in Wexford by running 4 candidates.
It is not since 1989 that Fianna Fail have run 4 candidates in a Dail Election in Wexford, while the last time they won 3 seats in the County was in 1982, when John Browne, Lorcan Allen, and Hugh Byrne were successful.
James Browne, Malcolm Byrne, Michael Sheehan, and Lisa McDonald will be hoping to emulate or perhaps even surpass the February 1982 result. Time will tell.
