Verona runs as an Independent

Verona Murphy is the latest to declare her intention to run in the General Election. In November’s by-election she ran for Fine Gael, but this time she will contest the election as an Independent.

Last November she got 9,543 first preference votes, just under 3,000 votes behind Fianna Fáil’s Malcolm Byrne, and 1,500 votes ahead of Labour’s, George Lawlor.
