Extensive shoreline searches east and west of Kilmore Quay took place today in an effort to recover missing fisherman Willie Whelan, (41), of Saltmills. Mr Whelan and Joe Sinnott were the crew members of the trawler Alize which sank off the Wexford coast near Hook Head last Saturday night week.

Kilmore Quay Coast Guard held an all day search with the assistance of Fethard on-Sea Coast Guard Unit and Carnsore/Rosslare Coast Guard. The Coast Guard Drone team carried out drone operations at targeted areas,

The teams involved in the search and recovery operation expresses their “many thanks to the kind and generous persons who dropped food over to our incident command unit, such a kind gesture and very much appreciated from all the teams involved today.”
