Unconfirmed reports linking former Cork senior hurling manager, John Meyler, with St Martins, have been gathering momentum in recent days.
The current county champions, St Martins, won their second senior title of the last three years a few weeks ago, as the accounted for St Anne’s in the decider.
Meyler, originally from Tacumshane, played both hurling and football for Wexford at minor and U-21 level before moving to Cork. He later went on to win both hurling and football championships with St Finbars and even captained the team that won the All-Ireland Club Championship in 1986.
As a manager, he has been at the helm in Cork, Kerry, Carlow and, Wexford.
Should these reports prove correct it will be a massive coup for the Piercestown club.
