New officers elected at Supporters’ Club AGM

There is major change at the top of the Wexford Racecourse Supporter’s Club following the annual general meeting held in the Ivy Room, Wexford Racecourse, on Friday night with Mary Doyle replacing Tim Nolan as Chairman of the group having served his statutory three year term in the chair.

Keith Cooke who has been in charge of the treasury for 17 years also decided to take a well deserved break from the bank balance and the cheque book and his replacement is Brian Murphy.

Mary Ballantyne is in her 20th year as secretary and she retains the position going into 2020, however, she was singled out for her long and dedicated service and following a brief glowing tribute from Derek Nally she was presented with a floral bouquet.

The business end of the meeting was positive. Ursula Sinnott, speaking on behalf of Wexford Racecourse, told the meeting that all fixtures were fulfilled during 2019, attendances were very good, and the track enjoyed a successful year. She thanked the members of the supporter’s club for all the good work done for the track.

Membership of the Wexford Racecpourse Supporters Club is open to all – the cost is €110 which includes Access Card to 11 meetings at Bettyville Park and free reciprocal days to nine other racecourses and other benefits. For more information call 087 3828099.
