“Saol an Mhadra Bháin”, produced by Midas Productions, is a two part bilingual documentary that explores the secret lives of working dogs and tells the stories of men, women, and children whose lives are dramatically changed and improved by them.
The leading contributor in the series is mum of two. Yvonne Weaver who lives in Gorey with her husband Brian. After losing her sight gradually from glaucoma and using the cane three years ago. She’s now about to take on the biggest challenge of her life and put her life and trust into her newly trained Guide dog Macy.

The documentary takes a look at the in-depth training and work that goes on in two Cork charities “The Irish Guide Dogs” and “Dogs for the Disabled” to produce these incredible dogs.
It’s a unique and heart-warming series that brings us into the homes and lives of those living with serious health challenges as we capture how these amazing animals transform their lives. Over two episodes, Saol an Mhadra Bháin reveals the unique bond between human and dog and shows the difference working dogs can make for those living with visual impairment, autism, diabetes, epilepsy, severe scoliosis and muscular dystrophy in Ireland today.
“It’s an exciting time ahead, a very exciting time ahead” Yvonne Weaver
