Enniscorthy’s men’s second eleven travelled to East Glendalough School on Tuesday night to fulfill a back fixture against Wicklow.
The hosts took an early lead with just seven minutes on the clock, having quickly taken charge of the contest. Enniscorthy gradually battled back, earning a penalty corner but the Garden County men earned one of their own just before the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter was more of a lackluster affair, Glen Rothwell having to make a double save to keep his side in the game in what was the only major attack before the interval. After the break it was the visitors who were in the ascendant, Leo Durnan shooting wide. Wicklow, though, fought back, extracting a fine save out of Rothwell in the Enniscorthy goal before winning a penalty corner and converting to double their advantage. Wicklow then made sure of all three points with a third goal in the last quarter. Enniscorthy will hope to bounce back when they visit Whitechurch Park – home of Corinthians – on Saturday.
Squad: Glen Rothwell, Andrew Rothwell, Ivan Rothwell, Seamus McAlister, Jack Doran, Billy James, Niall Maguire, Ben Hogan, Graeme Chapman, William Durnan, Chris St. Clair Johnson, Leo Durnan, Aodhán O’Leary
