It’s certainly a big weekend for St Martin’s as both the men and the women contest the Leinster Championship.
The men are first up on Saturday as they take on the All-Ireland Champions, Ballyhale Shamrocks, in the AIB Leinster Club Championship semi-final, throw-in at 1.30pm in Nowland Park. Should they be successful in that game they will play the winners of St Mullins (Carlow) and Rathdowney Errill (Laois), they play on Sunday in Netwatch Cullen Park.
The Martin’s are rank outsiders with Paddy Powers, Ballyhale are chalked up at 1/8, St Martin’s 11/2, and a draw is priced up at 14/1.
Two years ago at the same stage in the competition, Cuala, dished out an 11 point drubbing to St Martin’s, 3-17 to 0-15.
On Sunday the girls bid to retain their Leinster Club Championship, they take on St Vincent’s of Dublin at 2.30pm in Donaghmore-Ashbourne.
