The final Wexford race meeting of the 2019 season takes place at Bettyville Park on Bank Holiday Monday where the only ‘listed’ race run at the track is the highlight. The first of the seven races are off at 12.50 pm.
There are eleven entries for the richest race run at Wexford, the listed M.W. Hickey Memorial Chase where the leading fancies are likely to be Paul Nolan’s Discorama, Gordon Elliott’s Gun Digger, The Red Menace representing Noel Meade and Henry de Bromhead’s Kupatana who will have Rachel Blackmore on board.
The card is as follows;
12.50 pm; COUNTY WEXFORD VINTNERS MAIDEN HURDLE, 2 miles 100 yards, (47 entries).
1.25 pm; KEHOE FARMING RATED NOVICE HURDLE, 2 miles 100 yards, (13 entries).
2 pm; IRIS OPPORTUNITY HANDICAP HURDLE, 2 miles 100 yards, (16 entries).
2.35 pm; MICHAEL MOORE CAR SALES VOLKSWAGEN PORTARLINGTON MAIDEN HURDLE, 2 miles 4 furlongs, (15 entries).
3.10 pm; M.W. HICKEY MEMORIAL CHASE (Listed), of €24,000, 2 miles 7 furlongs, (11 entries).
3.45 pm; POOLCOURT BEGINNERS CHASE, 2 miles, (24 entries).
4.20 pm; JIM WHITTY MEMORIAL (C&G), (Pro/Am) Flat Race, 2 miles, (10 entries).
Yesterday’s jackpot pool of €251.16 was not won and is carried over to Monday’s meeting.
Admission is €15 for adults; OAP’s and students €10; Children under 16 are FREE.
