Wesley College 0
Enniscorthy 3
Enniscorthy’s men’s first eleven got their quest for league honours back on track on Saturday with a hard-fought 3-0 win over YMCA at Wesley College in Division 4.
The first quarter began promisingly for the Wexford men with a brace of first-quarter penalty corners, but as the match developed YM grew more into the game, producing a number of chances which the Enniscorthy back four of Glen Chapman, Simmons, Ivan Rothwell and Andrew Rothwell were well equipped to deal with.

It was in the second half, though, that things began to click for Enniscorthy. Seb Rynhart had a shot saved on forty minutes and Hogan made the breakthrough just a minute later. YM had a player green carded shortly after and tempers began to get frayed between both sets of players.
On the verge of the end of the third quarter, the hosts had the ball in the Enniscorthy net from a penalty corner but this was disallowed due to a high ball.
Then came the final quarter and some daylight for the visitors. It was not without worry for Hill in the Enniscorthy goal, though, as YM opened with a shot that went narrowly wide. Down the other end, Enniscorthy won a penalty corner, William Durnan’s saved shot was followed up by Dunne and the lead was doubled. Rynhart and O’Leary – who had an excellent game – then combined for Enniscorthy’s third three minutes from time.
Tallaght side Glenanne visit the Astro Active Centre on Saturday as the quest for league silverware continues, with tip-off at 3p.m.

Squad: Graham Hill, David Simmons, Glen Chapman, Andrew Rothwell, Ivan Rothwell, Roy Chapman, William Durnan, Aodhan O’Leary, Seb Rynhart, Charlie Dunne, Leo Durnan, Cian Hogan.
