A brace from Jack Doran proved enough as Enniscorthy’s men’s second eleven beat Mullingar II 2-0 at a rainswept Astro Active Centre on Saturday.
The hosts began brightly, hitting a pair of wides and earning a penalty corner before Doran scored his first – a scrappy effort but they all count – just seven minutes in. A brace of penalty corners were earned either side of quarter time by Enniscorthy without success, and a further two before the break. The hosts were creating chances from open play too, the pace of the returning Chris St. Clair Johnson causing problems for the Mullingar defence whenever he got the ball.
Jack Doran doubled the lead two minutes into the fourth quarter, a scoreline which barely reflected the dominance of the hosts.

Due to lack of numbers Mullingar were forced to use the squad which lined out for the Division 4 match and the visitors were visibly tiring by the end.
Saturday sees Enniscorthy make the long trip to Portrane and their second outing in Division 6.
Squad: Glenn Rothwell, Jack Doran, Robin Doyle, David Mulligan, Seamus McAlister, Graeme Chapman, Jack Tully, Chris St. Clair Johnson, Andrew Rothwell, Ivan Rothwell, Roy Chapman, Leo Durnan, William Durnan, Edmundas Liuikimas. Manager Fraser Rothwell.
