Oulart-The Ballagh 0-13

A very lacklustre draw in the final round of games in Group B saw Glynn-Barntown advance to the knock-out stages, and for the second year in a row, Oulart fail to reach the quarter-finals of the Pettitt’s Senior Hurling Championship.

Oulart started the best in this low scoring contest, and held a four-point advantage at half-time, 08-04. They were guilty of several missed goal chances, but their performance was quite poor by their standards. Glynn march on, but on the evidence of this performance, one has to ask how far can they go?

Since the departure of Frank Flannery, Oulart have only won two of their ten championship games; the Cork man brought a professional set-up in both coaching and game analysis to the team. GAA has become very hi-tech in recent years, the majority of teams video, and analyse their performance, but the current Oulart management are now one of the few that fail to buy into that process.
